Day 30

Love Brings Unity

Father, keep them in Your name, the name which You have given Me, that they may be one even as We are. 1 John 17:11

As a teacher I am constantly breaking up fights and arguments. Many days I find myself at the edge of insanity pleading with my students - "Why can't we all just get along!" Sometimes I wonder if God experiences this same frustration with us. After all, he created us to live in harmony with each other and to worship Him. How many of us experience divisiveness within our normal day? We may fight with our friends, argue with our parents, or provoke our siblings. Every one of us is guilty of bringing disunity to our households and relationships. However, the Lord calls us to work together. 1 Corinthians 12:27 says "Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it." Thankfully our body parts always work in agreement with each other (except for those of us who are clumsy...but that's besides the point :)) and this is what God expects of us as well.

Dare
Today remember that God calls us to work together. Do not let yourself be divisive. One thing that might help is to remember - if you can't say (or do) something nice, don't say (or do) anything at all.
