Love is Kind
1 Corinthians 13: 4
Love is Patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
Think of the last time someone did something unexpectedly kind for you? Did you feel loved?
Think of the last time someone reacted to you in an unkind way? How did you feel then? Kindness is an important aspect of love in any relationship. No one wants to be friends with someone who is not kind, no one wants to date someone who is unkind, and no one would want to serve a God who is unkind.
Lucky for us, we serve a God who is kind enough to give us a fresh new start everday - all we have to do is ask! In our quest to grow closer to God we need start showing love to others the way He describes in 1 Corinthians 13 - through kindness.
Ephesians 4:32
Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
Dare:
In addition to not saying anything negative, today, do one unexpected act of kindness for someone else, regardless of how they will react.

I had the hardest time thinking of something to do, but I finally found something - the dishes! (they've been his job since we got married because that's the one chore I can absolutely not stand!) I gagged the whole time but they are now all clean. :)
ReplyDeleteThis was pretty easy for me today. I thought about how my mom always takes so long to get ready that she never has time to eat a real breakfast. So I made her pancakes and bacon :]

Wow Amber's is really cool!! :) And poor Sarah lol. Today I did my chores without being told, like cleaning my room and washing the dishes. My mom didnt say anything about it, but i think she was secretly impressed. i almost always have to be reminded. Also, i didnt get in a single argument with my sis or mom. overall, i had a few slip ups, but i did WAY better than yesterday

i was unsure what to do for my ranodm act of kindness, in the end i swept the patio for my brother. and the not saying any negative thing was harder at school than at home. one day one i did the rubber band thing but decided after about half the day that my arm hurt really bad. at home the only negative i had to deal w/ was conflict w/ my bro but we did ok.
