Love Forgives
2 Corinthians 2:10
What I have forgiven, if I have forgiven anything, I did it for your sakes in the presence of Christ.
Forgiveness is a topic not many people want to talk about. We like to say we have forgiven and forgotten, but really we let things fester in the back of our minds and never really move past them. We lock these dark secrets of unforgiveness, anger, and hurt into the dark chambers of our heart and are unwilling to let God work on that part of our lives. He holds the key to forgiveness, we just have to be willing to let Him into that dark place of our lives.
How do we forgive? Leave it up to the Lord! "Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, 'Vengence is Mine, I will repay', says the Lord" Romans 12:9.
1 Corinthians 13:5 says that love keeps no record of wrong. We will never live happy, fulfilling lives until we can truly grasp and apply this concept.
Dare
What things in your life are you holding onto that need forgiveness? Tonight give it to God. Just as we want Him to forgive us, we must forgive others. Choose to say "I forgive you."
